Homeless Outreach

ChavesHaving identified specific locations to best serve the homeless, teams go out with a hot meal, personal hygiene supplies, and the message of love through Jesus Christ. Service opportunities are available for individuals and groups.

Union Gospel Mission Worship Service
On the third Wednesday of the month, volunteers lead a worship service for the residents of the Union Gospel Mission at 7:00pm. This is a great time of relationship building and encouraging the homeless with the love and hope of Christ

B Street Footwashing and Toiletry Distribution
On Saturday mornings, volunteer groups distribute toiletry items and wash the feet of the homeless on North B Street in Downtown Sacramento. Prayer and a teaching of Jesus’ washing his disciple’s feet are also incorporated. This outreach begins at 9:30am and lasts until about noon and can be tailored to any size group

Midtown/Downtown Street Ministry
On weekday evenings, volunteers meet together in Midtown to hit the streets of Midtown and Downtown Sacramento with food items and prayer. This is always a powerful time to see God minister to the forgotten of our city. This outreach begins at 7:30pm and usually runs until 10:00pm. It can be tailored to any size group

“We had a great experience partnering with Church Volunteer Network. They were helpful, friendly, and facilitated an outreach experience that was extremely impactful for our students. I would not hesitate to partner with them in the future.”

Michael Brill, Pastor of Young Adults Ministry, Church of the Foothills
